The influence of fibrinogen and other plasma proteins on the ESR and plasma viscosity.

چکیده
The erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) is one of the commonest clinical tests used to screen for the presence of a disease state or to follow up its activity. It is a standard test for monitoring inflammatory disease processes. However, factors unrelated to the presence or absence of inflammation may limit its usefulness. This is often the case in ch ronic renal disease where the ESR may be persistently elevated. 1 •

Effects of Circuit Resistance Training with Crocus Sativus (Saffron) Supplementation on Plasma Viscosity and Fibrinogen
A limited number of studies has been carried out concerning the combined effects of resistance training and saffron supplementation on cardiovascular risk factors. The aim of this study was to assess the effects of circuit resistance training with Crocus sativus (saffron) supplementation on plasma viscosity and fibrinogen. For this purpose, 44 healthy male subjects, based on individual charac...
متن کاملComparison of plasma fibrinogen level in opium addict men with non-addict men
fibrinogen is one of the plasma proteins synthetzed by the liver.elevated plasma fibrinogen is an independent coronary artery disease(CAD) risk factor and increases the risk of thrombus formation.this study was performed to compare the plasma fibrinogen level in opium addict men with non opium users.each group consisted of 60 males, who didnot smoke cigarettes and were not suffered from diabetes...
متن کاملEffect of Pyramidal Training on Plasma Lipid Profile and Fibrinogen, and Blood Viscosity of Untrained Young Men
The present study examined the effects of progressive exercise (pyramidal) short-term program on plasma fibrinogen, lipid profile and blood viscosity in untrained young men. Changes and imbalances in homeostasis lead to cause of heart attacks. There is conflicting information about the effect of exercise on these factors. 19 young healthy untrained men were randomly assigned to the exercise gro...
متن کاملChanges in fibrinogen levels, plasma viscosity and insulin resistance after 4 weeks of combined sit-up and walking training
Introduction: Reports concerning the association of physical activity with markers of inflammation, coagulation, and fibrinolysis are ambiguous. The aim of this study was to assess the effect of 4 weeks of combined decomposedsit-up and walking training with two different volumes onfibrinogen, plasma viscosity and insulin resistance index (HOMA-IR) in college, young men. Methods: In this semi...
متن کاملRelationship of the erythrocyte sedimentation rate to viscosity and plasma proteins in rheumatoid arthritis.
The best established laboratory test in the assessment of patients with rheumatoid arthritis is the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR). It is a complex measurement, the major factor being variations in the plasma protein concentrations, but the number and shape of the erythrocytes also contributes substantially. At constant red cell concentration, the relative contributions of the plasma prot...
متن کاملPlasma viscosity in giant cell arteritis as a predictor of disease activity.
Thirty one patients with giant cell arteritis (GCA) receiving standardised prednisolone treatment were followed up for one year with analyses of plasma viscosity, erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), C reactive protein (CRP), and fibrinogen concentration. On the day of diagnosis all patients had an increased plasma viscosity and ESR, whereas the concentration of CRP was normal in three patient...
